As Christians in Niger State join the rest of the world to celebrate Christmas which is the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Wushishi Old Students Association (WOSA), Prof. Muhammed Kuta Yahaya has appealed to members of the Association to embrace the virtues of peaceful coexistence and refrain from fanning the ember of disunity and hatred.
According to the Chairman of the BoT in his goodwill message, “the period of Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ who is the symbol of Christianity and the harbinger of peace, love and good tidings and there is no better way to celebrate the season than by showing love and being our brother’s keeper’’.
Prof. Kuta Yahaya who was the former Secretary to the Niger State Government (SSG), enjoined WOSA members to ensure that all the positives of Christmas did not end with the festive period but that everyone must consciously act to keep the generosity, bonding, love, and happiness that made Christmas a special season into the people’s daily lives so that every day of their lives after Christmas would be a special day.
He urged members of WOSA and Nigerians in general, to remain steadfast and pray for peace and stability of our nation in every ramification.
Prof. Kuta Yahaya prayed to Almighty God to intervene in our national challenges especially insecurity and other economic crises that has made life unbearable for citizens.
The Chairman felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State, and Nigerlites as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
As the Annual General Meeting of WOSA is slated to hold on the 27th of this month, the Chairman requested members of the Association to attend unfailingly as their presence is very important while urging them to help revamp the School and advance the course of academic and infrastructural development of the alma mater.
