NUT frowns at percentage salaries to Teachers in primary Schools in Niger .

Nigeria Union of Teacher’s Niger State wing has expressed worries and condemned in strong terms the continuous payment of salary on percentages to Primary school Teachers in the state despite several appeals for it’s stoppage.

This was disclosed in a press release jointly signed by the state Chairman Comrade Akayago Adamu Mohammed and Comrade Labaran Garba Principal Assistant Secretary General made available to journalists in Minna.

The statement reaffirmed the Council Sit-at-home directives to all teachers at the local Government level until when government reverse to status quo the salary payment of primary school Teachers in the state.

He added that the State wing executive council in- session expressed serious concern on the continuous delay for the supply of ZPAD to the Secondary school Teachers yet to benefit from the programme adding that the state ministry of education should ensure that teachers who are yet to benefit from ZPAD tablet are refunded their contribution( money).

He mentioned that the state wing executive council -in-session extols the genuine efforts of the state government for putting machineries in place towards the full implementation of the Teachers Salary Scale (TSS)in the state.

He appealed to those at helm of the affairs of Education in the state, local Government level and indeed the Primary school Teachers to cooperate and support the conduct of the Headcount exercise schedule for 17 January,2022 to 21 January 2022 by the Nigeria Union of Teacher’s NUT In conjunction with the Ministry of Education/SUBEB in order to have a successful and results oriented exercise.

He added that the exercise will not affect the Sit-at-home directives given by the UNION,adding that the Headcount is aimed at providing the state government with reliable teachers statistics data towards ascertaining the qualified and unqualified teachers in the state with the view to developing frame work for the full implementation of the Teachers Salary Structure.

SWEC-in-session then calls on the members to continue to exercise more restrain and awaits further directives from the Union.
