A group under the aegis of Omala Youth Enlightenment OYA has charged Hon Abel Egbita, to as a matter of political urgency declare his intention to vie for the forthcoming House of Representatives election in 2023.
The Omala Youth Enlightenment is an amalgams of youth groups in the 11wards of Omala Local Government Area of kogi state who have interest in the political emancipation of the area through sourcing of competent and credible candidate to drive the constituency to the promise land.
In a statement signed by the leader, Alhaji Adown Isah, and made available to Journalists in Lokoja over the weekend noted that the call became necessary for the sustained deficit of qualitative representation at that Federal Constituency.
According to the group, her teeming members who are energetic men and women, strong political stakeholders, have resolved to openly persuade Hon. Abel Egbita, whose pedigree speaks volumes for him to throw his heart into the ring to emancipate the people.
According to the statement, “That our resolve is anchored on our firm belief in equity, fairness and justice, which characterise the basic essence and foundation of our democracy.
”That we are solidly charged to state that thus far the voyage of our Federal Constituency has not sailed safely and peacefully, since mutual rotation amongst the local Government Areas have not been upheld , hence , the clarion call for him to contest.
” What we are saying is that as a group , we are fully convinced that the most viable way to re-enact and foster the common and agelong cooperation of power rotation between us and our brothers of Ankpa and Olamaboro has been systematically eroded.
” We are earnestly asking our brothers and sisters from Ankpa and Olamaboro LGAs to unreservedly support candidate from Omala, to demonstrate sportsmanship spirit of our people.
”That ,we believe to enthrone justice, Equity and fairness in the rotation of the Representatives slot which has flagrantly been abused , hence, the call for reimbursement of Omala to produce the next Representative.
”In conclusion, as the political events gathers momentum, we, the Omala Youth Enlightenment, having consulted widely , decided to mount pressures on our own , who is a successful businessman,philanthropic, full of energy , youthful disposition and political sagacity and we are convinced that if elected will ensure healthy development to the constituency.’ the group stated.
While soliciting for his acceptance of the offer to run, the group will not hesitate to drag him into the contest.
