Cancer fight; Lagos Lion Club takes Awareness walk to Ogudu.
The Lagos Icon Lions club, Ogudu, Lagos has staged an awareness Walk to create awareness about the prevalence of cancer in the country.
The event was held at Ogudu, Ojota, Lagos under the leadership of the President,Lion George Kayode Tanimowo
The exercise commenced with members assembled at Ogudu where they were captured before proceeding with the walk
Speaking at the occasion,the president,Lion George Kayode Tanimowo noted that he was deeply concerned about the number of people dying or being hospitalised for pediatric cancer on daily basis in the country.
“If we look at the statistics of people dying or hospitalised for pediatric cancer we will appreciate the importance of this awareness campaign to help save lives.
The president called on all members to contribute as “we are all involved” in line with our motto “We serve”.
The walk also had some senior members of the club participating with a promise to be actively involved in sensitising members of the public to the prevalence of cancer in the society and the need for early detection for prompt treatment.
