NIGERIA UNION OF PENSIONERS,NIGER CHAPTER PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE DG,LG PENSION BAORD.

Niger state Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners NUP and the State Local Government Pension Board have resolved to synergies in finding lasting solutions on issues boardering local government Retirees in the state.

The resolution was reached when Executive of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners,led by the Chairman Mallam Isyaku Ndagi pays a courtesy call on the management and the Director General of the Board,Mr Emmanuel Endazo Alamu in his office yesterday.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Isyaku Ndagi said the discussion with the Board has proven that the fight for the local government Retirees is not restricted to the Union alone,”the fight is going to be dual, because the management is for us and working for us,if we are not there, they wouldn’t have been here, hence the problem of the Retirees borders them too.

In his remarks, the Director General of the Board Mr Emmanuel Endazo Alamu pointed out that as the umbrella body of all the Retirees in the state, the Union has the right to voice out their greviences through dialogue to the concerned Authority.

The Director General stressed that the state government will not relent in addressing Pension matters as it relates to the local government Retirees.

“Assurance is that,their monthly Pension are paid as when due and shall be sustained by the grace of God and issue of gratuities and other Pension benefits, goverment would do it best to gradually try to reduce.

Other issues raised during the discussion were payment of gratuities harmonization of Pension payment,, timely payment of Pension,return of all Pension matter to the Board and remmitance of Pension fund from all the twenty five local government council’s in the state to the Pension Board among others.
