The families of Clergymen have been charged to be very supportive of them to enable them attain the zenith of their Ministries.
The Most Rev’d Emmanuel A S Egbunu, the Bishop of Lokoja Anglican Diocese stated this at the St. Michael mass Ordination Service held at the Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity, Lokoja.
He specifically urged wives of Clergymen to be very supportive in terms of prayers, companionship, advice and support.
Bishop Egbunu called on ministers of God to love and serve the people among whom they work, caring alike for young and old, weak and strong, as well as the rich and poor.
He urged them to always nourish Christ’s people from the riches of His Grace while strengthening them to glorify God in this life and hereafter.
He prayed that God will continually enlarge and enlighten their understanding of the scriptures so that they will grow stronger and mature in the Ministry.
Ven Francs Akogun in his homily, called on Christians to live a life of sacrifice and service to mankind, adding that it is only then they can genuinely serve God.
He charged them not to conform to the world, but be transformed into Christ, stating that when one is conformed to the world, such person is under bondage.
He called on the newly ordained men of God, not to be over ambitious as such attitude could lead them down the path of failure and destruction.
The highlights of the service was the ordination of Rev Joseph Akanya, Rev Jairus Sokowonchi Audu and Rev Olaifa Elija as Priests and Ordinand Emmanuel Bernard Elogun, Ordinand Raphael Samuel Enesi, Ordinand Falaye Emmanuel Ayowole and Ordinand Kayode Moses Akin as Deacons.
