The chairman of kogi state Elders Forum and Aspirant of 2023 Governorship election, Barrister Julius Elukpo PHD, has expressed Shock and sadness over the sudden death of the octogenarian monarch of Lokoja, HRM Muhammadu Maikarfi 111 who passed on to glory at the early hours of today, Thursday 29/9/2022.
The elder statesman hinted that the death of the monarch was a setback for the growth and development of the state.
Barrister Elukpo, said the death of Maigeri of Lokoja, who has contributed immensely to the security and social economic enhancement of the state, was a consequential loss to all the well meaning kogites at home and in the diaspora.
He eulogized the deceased royal father for his roles in the enthronement of unity and cordial relationship among the various ethnic tribes resident in the state capital.
According to him, his relationship with the monarch that spanned couples of decades was fruitful and rewarding in the   quest to establish a just , fair and egalitarian society.
In a pain laden tone , he noted ” I paid him consultation visit recently with my team to inform him of my intention to govern kogi state. He gave me his blessings. Placed his hands on my head and prayed for me” He laments.
In a media statement signed by his Media Consultant, Atabor Julius and made available to Treasuretimes on Thursday in Lokoja , Barrister Elukpo regretted the passing away of the royal father whose  words and wisdom and purposive leadership is ultimately needed at this critical electioneering period.
The statement noted that although, as human, he would have loved to have the monarch to continue to live with us, however, the Almighty God has a better reason to call him home to eternity.
The elder statesman, therefore uses this occasion of state wide mourning to call on the good people of the state to eschew divisive tendencies that will plunge the state into anarchy.
He , however, called on his immediate family to take solace in God who alone gives and take lives at the appropriate time convenient for him alone.
Hence, he pray to God to give the whole people in his domain and the entire citizenry of the state fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss .
While commiserating with Kogi state Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello and his Government over the death of the reverred Father, urge him to immortalise the late sage as a mark of honour for his contribution to the social, economic and cultural transformation of the state
Recall that the Late Muhammudu Kabir Maikarfi died at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja at early hours of Thursday at the ripe age of 80 years.
