Niger SDGs, Commences training of 100,000 Youths in Zone C in the Use of renewable Home Solar Systems.

The programme tagged “Off Grid Training Programme” was held at Safara Motel in Kontagora Local Government Area, recently.

While declaring the training open, the Director General, Sustainable Development, SDGs, Mohammed Bashar Yakubu Harka explained that the participants were drawn from the wards of the Eight Local Government Areas in Zone C.

Bashar Harka disclosed that the State Government through the SDGs was into a partnership with A-Solar Group of Company to train the Youths and women in the Use of home Solar Systems cross the three geopolitical zones of the State.

He said the State government was ready to empowered the youths and women in the Home Solar Systems at a subsidized cost stressing that the training would be carried out in zone A and Zone B to afford the youth an avenue for self reliance.

In his goodwill message, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Hon. Mohammed Kabir Abbas expressed optimism that the beneficiaries would make judicious use of the opportunity to improve on their economic well being.

He charged the participants to take the training with all seriousness in order to justice the confidence reposed in them adding that it was expected that they would escalate the business at their various communities.

In the same vein, the Managing Director, Niger State A-Solar Off Grid Project, Mr. Ibrahim Usman said the project was all about taking affordable green energy to the rural dwellers who are totally off grid or under served.

He said the programmme has started rolling out 20,000 home Solar Systems emphasising that the beneficiaries would be trained on the use, installation and maintenance of Solar Systems.
