Rt. Hon. Aliyu Akuh, former Deputy speaker, kogi state House of Assembly has been appointed Coordinator, Omala Local Government Area of kogi state PDP, Presidential Campaign Council PCC, for the 2023 General Elections.
This as the former Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has emerged, Chairman, kogi state presidential campaign Council, while , ex. Deputy Governor, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi becomes the Director General of the state campaign council.
Speaking to Treasuretimes at the sidelines of the inauguration of the PCC at Kafas Event Center Lokoja, yesterday, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Akuh, promised to unite all the aggrieved members in order to enter the election as a formidable and united party.
He assured that , with Governor Ibrahim Idris at the helms of affairs in the state, supported by Arc. Yomi Awoniyi and others the election is as good as being won.
He called on all the members to eschew bitterness and to put aside whatever that had taken place during the primaries, saying in an election there would be winners and losers .
He said, the task to reclaim Omala is a task by every member of the PDP, adding that the people are looking unto PDP to rescue , and reset them from poverty, hunger and deprivation that pervades the land.
” Im confident that with the caliber of personalities in the composition of the PCC, Omala LGA is up for grab by PDP.
We have consistently, since the dawn of Democracy ensured that no party except PDP had won elections in Omala. And at this critical moment in our nation, we must put up our sleeves to retake what belong to us. We can do it, if only we work as a team.
He commended the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar AA, and his running mate, Dr. I. Okowa, governor of Delta state for the purposive campaign strategies employed since the official flag off of the presidential campaign as the party has remained focused despite provocations by the opposition parties.
He called on the electorate to give their mandate to the PDP which, he acknowledged, has the capability, capacity, experience and empathy to rescue, reset and rejig the our nation that is at the cusp of hopelessness.
While enjoining the people of Omala to vote enmass for the PDP urge all Nigerians to work hard to ensure violent free forthcoming general elections.
