* Inaugurates local Government, wards campaign committee.
The Coordinator of PDP Omala Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. Aliyu Akuh has tasked members of the party to at least attract five persons from the opposition parties as PDP is committed to reset and revamp the country.
This is just as over one thousand party stalwarts from the APC have renounced their membership and joined the PDP
The PCC Coordinator gave the charge on Saturday during the inauguration of the Local Government campaign Committee members held at Abejukolo headquarters of Omala Local Government Council of kogi state.
Akuh who was highly excited by the massive turnout of party members and supporters, advised for a persuasive approach to woo electorate to the party rather than being combative and engaging in unnecessary argument that will lead to crisis.
He noted that the people at the grassroots are eager to see PDP return to power as the seven years of APC has brought untoward hardship, deprivation and abject poverty.
He added that the people are tired of the present government and are looking for Messiah, which he said PDP is the answer, hence, members should be empathic while soliciting for their support.
According to him, if one bring five, another person bring five , the membership will upsurge for the electoral victory of the party.
” We need people from other parties in our fold. We should not engage in acts that will detract or cause unnecessary argument. We should be as friendly as possible, because it takes a friendly approach to win somebody to your side.
” I tell you the truth. The people are tired of this administration and are looking unto our party to salvage the country. So they need us and hence , we should not let our actions or statement scare them.
” By the time you bring and i bring and everybody bring somebody, is the election not over. We Should work as a team to restore Omala back to PDP and im confident that if we do our part, our presidential Candidate, Senate, Reps and state Assembly would win in grand style.” He solicited.
While calling on the members of the committee to approach the campaign as a personal vocation, assured the defectors that in PDP everybody has equal rights and opportunities.
He urge them to persuade some of their friends and families who are yet to see the light to join the PDP for brighter and prosperous Nigeria.
Earlier, at the palace of the paramount ruler of Omala, HRH Boniface Musa , the Ojogba of Ife, the senatorial Candidate of the party Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji applauded the royal father for the peaceful coexistence in his domain advised him to continue to maintain peace in this election period.
He charged members to consider the forthcoming general elections as their personal activities not to view it as that of Atiku or Adoji but for future of their children.
He said Omala being the traditional home of PDP , said, what the need is only to rejig its winning streak and vote massively for the party.
In a remark, the monarch thank the Campaign committee , the the candidates of the PDP for their maturity in handing their campaign and advise them to shun acts that will breach law and order.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Hon. Johnson Atabo, a former Councilor and stalwart of APC said , he and his supporters were tired of the party and have to look for a party that will provide light for the members.
He said , having been member of the PDP before moving to APC and has compared the two and came to a conclusion that PDP is the only party that cares for the interest of NIgerians
He called on other aggrieved members of the APC to take courage and move to PDP which he said is capable of resolving myriads of challenges facing the country.
