Kogi state Governor , Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has assured Electorate to participate in the forthcoming general elections without fears of molestation or harrrasment as the government is prepared to deal with trouble makers.
This is as he has given a pat on his administration for doing its best for the state through monumental projects , which , he said , is a product of unconventional formula he employed to solving myriads challenges facing the state.
Gov. Yahaya Bello made the disclosure at the NUJ Symposium with the theme: A peep into Gov. Yahaya Bello’s Seven Years in office and the implication for future Administration, organised by the Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ held in Lokoja on Thursday.
The Governor averred that on assumption of office in 2016, he was faced with numerous challenges bedeviling the State,, hence, he has to apply home-grown formula to arrest the menace.
Bello urged the incoming administration to leverage on the existing formula he used in solving the State’s problems.
He charged politicians to play the game by the rules during the general elections,while appealing to the electorate to unite against individual or group of individuals who are bent on creating violence to disrupt elections.
He expressed optimism that the 2023
Election will hold in peace , assuring that the current hardship facing the country would soon be over.
He said for the track records of the the presidential candidate of APC , Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the performance of President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC will triumph at the general elections.
The Governor promised to sustain his relationship with the NUJ, and charged media Professionals to remain unbiased while covering the elections.
He said, all necessary arrangements have been perfected for the donation of a Bus to the Kogi council of NUJ and a facelift to the physical properties of the council.
Earlier, Kogi State NUJ Chairman, Comr. Adeiza Momohjimoh, noted that the symposium is aimed at scrutinising the administration and after careful examination, the government has done well in almost all sectors of the state economy.
The chairman called on the citizenry to continue to support the administration and avoid acts that will disrupt peaceful coexistence.
