The Deputy Governor of Niger State and Coordinator of Tinubu-Shettima Grassroot Independent Campaign Council (ICC) in the state, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Ketso has  said that Nigerlites were informed people and can differentiate between light and darkness and would demonstrate that during the Governorship and state assembly election.

The Deputy Governor stated this while addressing a group of Nupe Journalists, at his residence in Minna, Wednesday.

He said the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago is the right man for the job and that Nigerlites knows that and will demonstrate it at the poll.

Alhaji Ahmed Ketso said those engaging in campaign of calumny, using religion and tribe has nothing to offer, adding that both Muslims and Christians we are all one and that what the electorates should be looking for is that candidate that will bring peace and development to Niger state, which he said Umar Bago fit into that category.

He recalled that in 2015, they took over from a PDP administration where both the Governor and his Deputy are Muslims, adding at that time the present gubernatorial candidate of the PDP was running mate to Umar Nasko who is also a Muslim, and that in 2019 the same PDP paired Umar Nasko and Barr. Kudu Ndayako (SAN) who are both Muslim.

He expressed dismay over the condemnation of the Muslim -Muslim ticket by the opposition, saying it was a sign that they have nothing to offer Nigerlites and it was why they were resulting to using religion to campaign.

Ahmed Ketso observed that in Niger state alot of families were mixed up religiously, particularly the Nupes, Gbagyis and the Kambaris, and called on Nigerlites not to allowed themselves to be deceived by those who have nothing to offer.

“Anyone you see using tribe and religion to campaign has nothing to offer. Nigerlites should not allow themselve to be deceived by such group of people,” said the Deputy Governor.

He said Umar Bago is humility personified and a true son of the Nupeland whose family background was known to everyone, and called on Nigerlites to vote for him and all APC candidates for the state assembly.
