RAMADAN: Observe Each Ramadan Like The Last One To Attain Piety: Confluence Muslim Sisters Initiative

Muslims have been enjoined to observe each Ramadan like the last one to attain piety.

The Amira of Confluence Muslim Sisters Initiative, Hajiya Safiya Ibrahim stated this at an annual Ramadan Lecture organized by the body in Kogi state.

Hajiya Safiya noted that fasting in the month of Ramadan, reading the Quran and worshiping
with sincerity was the only way to gain Allah’s mercy in this world and hereafter.

She appreciated members and guest for their quest in continual propagation of Islam, urging them to keep it up.

Speaking on importance of Ramadan, Imam Kashim Muhammad, Allah commanded the people in the Quran that whoever witness the month of Ramadan should not hesitate to fast urged Muslims to engage in the voluntary night prayers prescribed by the scripture in the month to attain piety.

Imam Muhammad explained that Allah revealed Quran to prophet Muhammad in the month of Ramadan as a guide to mankind urging Muslims to continue reading the Quran which would intercede for them in the hereafter.

According to him, travelers, sick people who missed the fast are expected to pay back when they are comfortable while aged people, terminally ill people are totally exempted from fasting but has to feed the needy.

A lecturer with School of Health Ochadamu, Hajiya Asmau Abdullahi who spoke on Lassa fever explained that the people should avoid exposing their foods to rats and stop eating whatever has been eaten by rats to avoid exposure to Lassa fever.
