…. Insists Ondo South Senatorial District AWALOKAN IN ILE-OLUJI.

Ahead of the forthcoming Ondo State Governorship election, groups and individuals have already begun drumming support for the present Commissioner for finance, Ondo State and member of the All Progressives Congress insisting that for Ondo State Election 2024, AWALOKAN IN ILE-OLUJI.

Though an unwritten law, the next Ondo State Governor is expected to come from Ondo South Senatorial District with Otunba Wale Akinterinwa, the present Commissioner For Finance, said to be the best fit for the job in terms of capacity, competence and acceptability.

The group is powered by the duo of Prince Babatunde Aladekere, a United States based businessman and Dr Olayinka-Martins Akeem, a businessman and public analyst.

Otunba Wale Akinterinwa, a die-hard loyalist of the present Governor of Ondo State, is seen as best qualified to step into the shoes of Gov Akeredolu who would be rounding up his tenure.

As loyalist who has served well the need to build on the legacies of the Akeredolu administration is seen by many as reasons why many think Otunba Wale Akinterinwa should be supported to assume the next Governorship of the State.

A native of Ile-Oluji under Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, is seen as the symbol of the Ondo South Agenda 2024.

Akeem Olayinka-Martins, DSc, described the Ondo State Commissioner as a symbol of continuity, insisting that he has all it takes to improve on Governor Akeredolu blueprints on Education, infrastructure, Health, Youth empowerment/Employment.etc

He expressed optimism that the Commissioner for Finance as Ondo State Governor will sustain the unity and development of the State, urged for support that would see to the realization of the aspiration.

The Ondo State Commissioner For Finance, Adewale Olumuyiwa Akinterinwa was born in Lagos on the 12th of December 1962 to Late Pa Moses Akinterinwa and Mrs Agnes Akinterinwa.

He had his primary education at K. Kotun Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Surulere, Lagos, from where he gained admission to Government College Ibadan in 1974. He was in GCI from 1974 – 1981, where he obtained both his WASC and HSC

He later proceeded to the University of Ife, Ile – Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) where he obtained BSc (Hons) in Accountancy in 1986.

From 1988 to 1991, he did his National Youth Service with the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc and worked with Afro Continental Nigeria Limited as an Accountant.

From 1991 to 1999, he worked with the defunct Triumph Merchant Bank where he held various positions and rose to become the Group Head Treasury and Financial Services in 1997.

Between 1999 and 2002, he worked with Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) as the Special Assistant on Finance, Investment and Strategy to the Managing Director.

From 2003 to 2009, he was the Executive Vice Chairman of Gideon Trust Investment Limited and also seats on the Board of Gideon Trust Micro Finance Bank Limited, and also Non-Executive Director of Emergent Power Energy Development Company Limited.

He was re-appointed into the Ondo State Cabinet as the Commissioner for Finance in 2017, a position he holds till date. As it was during his first stint as the Finance Commissioner, he has been adjudged to be a prudent financial manager, who in the face of stringent financial position of the State has ensured that the present administration has been meeting all her financial obligations as at when due.

One of his landmark achievements while in office presently is the restructuring of the State Development Bond to ease some funds for the state.

The State Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) has also been experiencing a steady growth under his watch as the Commissioner for Finance.

Wale is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

He was once the House of Representative candidate for Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency under the Alliance for Democracy in 2003. He was also a governorship aspirant in 2012 on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria. He is a member of many clubs and societies including the prestigious Ikoyi Club 1938.

He is a farmer, and always proud to say so, a golfer, loves football, reading, listening to music, and engaging in community development activities and discussion.

He has also won many awards as a result of his selfless service to humanity.

Wale is married to Oluremilekun Akinterinwa, and they are blessed with two children.
