Insecurity: NUJ tasks Ododo on rising Kidnappings, Armed Robberies in kogi.

The NIgeria Union of Journalists NUJ kogi state Council, has called on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to re-strategize his security architecture to curb the rising waves of kidnappings and armed robberies across the state.
The union gave the advice at the end of her Congress held at the press center in Lokoja over the weekend.
The Congress, presided over by the Chairman, Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna, commended governor Ododo for his sweeping reforms of the governance of the state since assumption of office , on 27th of January , 2024.
According to the communiqué , the Congress in session applauded the Governor for the rice palliatives distributed across the 21 Local Government area of the state and urge him to sustain the scheme to cushion the hardship in the State.
While acknowledging him for the take-off of the health insurance policy for both formal and informal sectors of the State, admitted his efforts in the implementation of 100 percent hazard allowance for health workers , and appealed for urgent pronouncement and implementation of wage award for civil servants.
The communiqué read in part” The union wants the Government to handle the issue of food inflation in the State which is affecting the people and to focus on the agricultural sector as a means of providing food security and employment for the teeming Youths in the State.The government as a matter of urgency hasten the resuscitation of public water supply in the State capital.
“We observed the poor supply of electricity by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, (AEDC) urging the State Government to take a cue from the Abia State Power model in providing alternative means of power supply to the State.
“We appealed to the Federal Government to expedite action on the completion of Ganaja-Ajaokuta Federal road before the raining season fully set in . We similarly called on the present administration to complete all ongoing road constructions especially welcome to Lokoja-Barrack-Zone 8, nine kilometers and 16. 4 km Eastern bypass linking zone 8 ( wada road)
Meanwhile, the Congress advised members to promptly pay their professional and practicing fee for the year and warned against professional misconduct by members.
While observing that cleanliness is next to Godliness, has introduced monthly environmental sanitation exercise to be observed last Saturday of every month.
