Kogi Govt. to deploy latest technology, AI to combat insecurity, as SSA Surveillance, Empire, receives letter of appointment.
Kogi state government has assured the citizenry that insecurity in the would be a thing of the past as it is ready to deploy the latest technology including Artificial intelligence to stamp out all forms of crimes and criminalities in the state.
The newly appointed Senior Special Assistant SSA.to the governor on Surveillance, Chief Iweha O. Empire made the disclosure on Wednesday when he received letter of appointment from the Secretary to the government, Mrs Folashade Ayoade Arike in Lokoja.

The SSA, who is also the President General of Igbo Youth Congress in Kogi described Gov Ododo as detribalised and a unifier , a man that has brought peace and tranquility to the state since his assumption of office on 27/1/2024.
Chief Empire who was full of gratitude to governor Ododo, for spotting him for the assignment and pledged not to disappoint the confidence repose in him

He disclosed that the state Government is committed to deploy the latest technology to fight crimes and criminalities,adding that in no distant time, the Artificial Intelligence cameras would be deployed across the state
He advised the people of the state to accept their responsibilities and to join hands with security agencies to fight crimes , as security is everybody’s business.
He lauded former governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for the solid foundation he has laid for the state.
He called on the people to come together irrespective of tribes and creeds to transform Kogi state, as this is the only state they can call their own.
On his philanthropic gesture, he admonished the people to be their brothers and sisters keeper as nothing is too small not to be shared with people.’ “You don’t necessarily need the whole money on earth to help others. To help is a culture to be cultivated. And I urge every one to log into the blessings inherent in meeting the needs of others.’

According to him, since security is not for government alone, the people are to say something when they see something , adding that nobody is safe and secured untill every body’s security is guaranteed.
Meanwhile, Chief Iweha Empire used the occasion to pledge scholarship awards to the children of Four Journalists who covered the collection of his letter of appointment ceremony.
While handing over the letter of appointment to him amidst cheers, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Folashade Ayoade Arike admonished him to justify the confidence the government reposed in him.
The SSG assured him that Gov’ Ododo believes in his capacity and capabilities to contribute his quota to the fight against insecurity , saying his vast knowledge in the sector was the reason for the appointment
She noted that with the caliber of members of Igbo community in Lokoja that graced the occasion, it is a confirmation that the Governor has made the right choice.
In their separate speeches at the event, which drew creme la crème of Igbo community in Lokoja, the Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of PEELINK Electrical and Electronic Enterprise, Mr. Peter Emeka described the appointee as a friend, a brother and a confidant, a man who cares for the downtrodden.
He said the important people from all walks of lives in the state, that came for the event marks the kind of person he is, as he is confident that he will imprint his name in gold .
Emeka said, Chief Iweha Empire has been a father to the orphans, husband to widows, and promoter of education as his scholarship awards have aided many students to accomplish their educational pursuit.
He hinted that Chief Iweha Empire’s deployment to Surveillance unit, , a terrain that he is familiar with, would galvanise security architecture in the state, stressing that all those who know him closely were excited with the appointment as criminals would soon meet their Waterloo.
He commented Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the appointment of one of their own and assure him that he will not betray the trust, assuring him that the Igbo community in Kogi are solidly behind his administration.
He Congratulated him on his success at the election tribunal Judgement and urge the citizenry to give maximum support to the government for the delivery of dividend of Democracy.
In the same vein, the President General of Igbo community in Lokoja, expressed his appreciation to the governor for appointing Chief Iweha Empire and two other committed members of his Association to his cabinet and assured him of his capacity to bring new thinking to the security architecture of the state.
He commended him for the significant improvement of security in the state , saying , in the past the people used to live in fears but that has changed for good with his assumption of office.
