Ogorians Celebrate 2024, Idu Yam Festival In Grand Style in LOKOJA
A Socio-cultural organisation and the umbrella body for Ogorians living in Lokoja the Kogi State capital, The Ogori Descendants Union, ODU, Lokoja Branch have concluded arrangements to hold this year’s Idu and Award festival tomorrow in LOKOJA.
A statement by the Chairman, ODU Lokoja Branch Idu and Award planing Committee , Mike Oyidi said this year’s celebration scheduled to hold on the 7th of September,2024 promise to be colourful, interesting and rewarding as it is not just the usual Idu celebration but awards has been introduced.
According to the statement awards would be presented to some eminent sons and daughters of Ogori land as well as distinguished and deserving Nigerians who have contributed to the human capital development and growth of Ogori land.
The statement said the Idu (New Yam) celebration which will hold at the Graphic Newspaper premises, would commence by 2pm.
The committee said the celebration would feature the rich cultural heritage of the Ogori people, comprising of Idu rites, Eregba, Ogengen ensen, ‘Oko’ competition and more .
The statement hereby invites all sons and daughter, friends and well wishers of Ogori land to the celebration.
