Hon. Umar Yahaya “Connect,” the representative for Omala in the Kogi State House of Assembly, has expressed deep condolences over the death of Alhaji Abdul Ogodu (Examiner), a prominent elder statesman and community leader from Ogodu district.
Alhaji Ogodu, passed away yesterday after a protracted illness, at his residence in Ogodu, Omala Local Government Area. The deceased was renowned for his entrepreneurial spirit and significant contributions to community development.
In a statement released to the press, Hon. Yahaya described the late Alhaji Ogodu as a pillar of the community whose loss will be deeply felt. The lawmaker prayed for Allah to grant the deceased Aljanat Firdaus and beseeched divine strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
The late Alhaji Ogodu is survived by numerous children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His passing marks the end of an era for the Ogodu district, leaving a void in both business and community leadership circles.
He has since been buried according to Islamic rites. The 3 days prayer as announced by the family of the deceased has been slated for tomorrow Sunday, in Ogodu, Omala local government area.
As news of his death spreads, residents of Omala LGA have begun to gather at the family compound to pay their respects, highlighting the deep impact Alhaji Ogodu had on his community during his lifetime.
