It is with a deep sense of sorrow that the National Executive Council of Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) regrets the passing of its past President. Comrade, Josiah Idechu Ikani.
In a letter of condolence to the family, signed by the spokesperson, Jonathan Jibrin and made available to Treasuretimes in Lokoja.
The statement notes that the ICDA NEC described late Elder Ikani as an Igala patriot who dedicated his life to the uplifting of his people. His passion for the promotion and sustenance of Igala Cultural and Moral values was quite remarkable. He had an eventful tenure as National President of ICDA.
In the funeral programme released by the family, the activities will commence with a service of songs and tributes at his Makurdi residence on Wednesday, the 7th of March 2025.
There will be a wake keep at his Idah residence on Thursday, the 8th of May. The funeral service and interment will be on Friday, 9th May 2025, at UEC Idah Headquarters and his residence, respectively.
All sons and daughters of Igala extraction are enjoined to come out and bid a worthy ambassador of the Kingdom farewell.
We pray the Lord almighty grants his family and the entire Igala people the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
