In his avowed commitment to ameliorate the suffering of his people especially during festive seasons, the Executive Chairman of Omala Local Government Council , Hon. Edibo Peter Ameh Mark, on Thursday distributed over 1,383 bags of 50kg bags of rice to residents to cushion the economic reality during Christmas and new year celebrations.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the chairman, Gift Idoga, the distribution took place at the Local Government Council Secretariat, followed the provision of the rice by the Executive Governor of Kogi State as a gesture to cushion the economic hardship and ensure a joyous festive season for the people.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Edibo expressed profound gratitude to the “people’s Governor” for his consistent support and concern for the welfare of Omala residents.
He reaffirmed the unalloyed loyalty and support of the people of Omala LGA to the present administration in Kogi State.
According to him , the groups and Organisations that benefited from the largesse include: 1100 Bags to the 11 Wards of the LG.
100 bags to Christian Association of Nigeria.CAN, others are Omala Stakeholders: 150 bags
Traditional Rulers: 33 bags.which totaled to.1383 59 kg Bags of Rice
The Chairman while emphasizing the need for transparency and fairness in the distribution process. cautioned ward leaders and frontline distributors to ensure that the palliatives reached the intended beneficiaries at the grassroots.
Hon. Edibo further warned that monitoring teams and observers have been deployed to assess the distribution exercise and ensure accountability, stressing that any form of diversion would not be tolerated.
He said the initiative was widely applauded by beneficiaries, and commended the state and local government leadership for prioritizing the welfare of the people during the Yuletide season
