NIGER NUP PAID A COURTESY VISIT TO THE COMMISSIONER OF FINANCE.

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners,Niger state chapter again called for calm among it Members, saying that the Union will leave no stone unturned to ensure that Pensioners are paid their retirement benefits in the state
.
The Chairman of the Union Comrade Isyaku Ndagi stated this when the Union Executive’s pay a courtesy visit to the state Commissioner of Finance in his office today.

The Chairman Comrade Ndagi explained that the courtesy visit was to strengthen the existing relationship between the Union Executive’s and the Commissioner as well as to push forward the challenges encountered by the Retirees in the state.

The Chairman Comrade Ndagi then appealed to the state government to prioritize the plights of Pensioners in the state by making funds available to settle Retirees their gratuities.

He urged the members of the Union to be Patient and embrace dialogue,adding that they have come a long way in life and should not be associated with protest.

The Commissioner of Finance, Mallam Muhammad Usman Tinau,in his response during the visit said that Haven served as Director General in state Pension Board,he is unaware of the difficulty and challenges been faced by Retirees in the state and the effort made by the Governor to address it.

Mallam Usman Tinau mentioned that the state Governor has issued the Ministry of finance a directive to source for fund and pay Pensioners their benefits in the state.

He confirmed that, within the shortest period of time Retirees in the state will smile again.
