Fostering Press Relations:  Kogi SSA on Surveillance, Iweha  Empire, offers Scholarships to a Child each for  4 Kogi Journalists .

In his commitment to fostering working  relationship with Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant SSA to kogi state Governor , Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on Surveillance, Hon. Chief , Iweha O. Empire has offered scholarships to one child for four Journalists with Kogi state council of NUJ, Lokoja.
The beneficiary Journalists include ATABOR JULIUS of Daily Independent, SUNDAY ICHABA,, Radio Kogi ,SULE MOHAMMED of NTA lokoja, and BECKY  ABUTU of Grace FM Lokoja.
The Senior Special Assistant made the disclosure while fielding questions from some journalists on the sidelines of the receipt of his appointment letter from the Secretary to the State Government,(SSG) Mrs Folashade Ayoade Arike on Wednesday 5th June, 2024 in her office in Lokoja.
Hon. Empire, who is also the President General of Igbo Youths Council in Kogi, noted that Journalists who are the bridge between the people and the Government ought to be supported even in helping them in the training of their children and wards.
He said , the award of this scholarship to the undergraduate children of the Journalists was his  modest contributions to the economic enhancement of practicing Journalists in the state.
According to him, his philanthropic gesture is targeted at those who practically needs  assistance, irrespective of tribes and religions, saying , helping those in needs have been his lifestyle.
He urge individuals and groups with means to identify with less endowed members of the society to make Kogi a  better  state for all the citizens.
” I have been lending hands to the people and communities I found myself. I have extended my little resources to help widows, orphans, indigent students in tertiary institutions, sunk boreholes to communities.
” It is also my believe that nobody is too rich or too poor to help. It is what you give out that multiplies. I have been doing these for years and God has been elevating me..
He commended Governor Usman Ododo for the opportunity he gave him to contribute his quota to the growth and development of kogi state.
Meanwhile, the scholarship would cover tuition fee  of one academic year  and would be disbursed after due diligence with the beneficiaries’ institutions.
