Late CDS Ogohi:  Omachi Atta, Prof. Ocheni expresses shock, Grief.
The Omachi-Atta Igala and a former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor (Chief) Stephen Ikani Ocheni has expressed  grief and shock over the death of a former Chief of Defence Staff, Retired Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, CFR.
The former Chief of Defense Staff was reportedly dead at the early hours of today, Sunday in a private hospital in Abuja.
Professor Stephen Ocheni who expressed sadness over the demise of the late four star General, said Igala Kingdom and indeed the nation as a whole has lost one of its finest Elderstateman.
He stated that late Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi had a flourish and glorious career in the Nigerian Navy, rising to become the first Naval officer to be appointed the Chief of Defense Staff, among other high ranking positions he held in the Nigerian Navy.
 ‘It’s heart breaking and with sadness I received with shock and pain the ugly news of the passing away of our father, brother and an accomplished officer of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, CFR’.
‘He is a man of great wisdom, integrity, courage and discipline, whom I described as soilder of soilders, and General of Generals. He served the Nigerian Armed Forces with his utmost best and excellence, where he demonstrated uncommon patriotism and dedication to duties’.
Professor Stephen Ocheni said the Igala Kingdom has lost a shining star and personality that brought the name of Igala land to national recognition and leadership by his attainment to the rank of four star General.
The former Minister commiserates with the Government and people of Kogi state and in particular, the people of Igala Kingdom over this monumental loss of their dear son, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi.
Professor Stephen Ocheni condole with the wife of the deceased, Hajia Fatima Ibrahim Ogohi, the children and other relatives on the death, praying God to comfort them at this moment of grief and sorrow.
He also prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest.
