The Task Team Leader made the disclosure when she led the world Bank, Federal Government Team on ACresal on implementation support Mission to Project sites in Okene Local Government Area on Friday, at Etahi, Okene LGA.
The Team visited the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM, ALHAJI AHMED ANAJE, who was ably represented by the Ohi of ADAVI, lauded the administration of Gov Ododo for putting the well-being of the people first.
Dr. Agene described the ongoing implementation of Acresal projects in the State as one that deserves commendation, expressed satisfaction with the preliminary result, urged the State Government to sustain the development.
” From what is on the ground and the level of compliance to due process and standard, we cannot but applaude the State Government. All that is required is sustainability. The people need to take full ownership by protecting the project. The money used in the project implementation is a loan, reason why we are concerned on the delivery to enable the successful delivery”.
Speaking further, the TTL, Chief (Dr.) Joy Agene, extolled the brilliance, determination and dexterity of the Project Coordinator, Kogi State ACReSAL, Barr. Ladi in ensuring that succour comes to the good people of the State where the ACReSAL Project is intervening.
She urged the people not to relent in their support for the Project, described Kogi State as one of that ranks best in project implementation of Acresal projects in the country.
On his part, the National Project Coordinator, Dr. Abdulhamid Umar, urged the people of ETAHI to jealousy guide the intervention Project as a way of showing appreciation for the State Government’s unwavering support to improving their well-being and livelihood.
The Project Coordinator, Kogi State ACRESAL, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, OON, while delivering her opening remarks, urged the people to own the Project, adding that it is theirs to cherish and protect.
She thanked Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo for continuing with the support for the Project, originally keyed into by his predecessor, former Gov. Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
She thanked Gov. Ododo for the State Government’s recent release of additional Counterpart fund to the tune of N600 million, needed for PAP’s resettlement and Project Management.
The Ohi of ADAVI, who represented the OHINOYI was full of praises for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and his predecessor, said without the support of Gov. Ododo the Project in Kogi State would not have been made possible, added that he has prioritized the benefits by taking the loan for the benefit of the people of the State.
The CRF, FAO and other project beneficiaries, of the Dry Season Farming as well as other Project beneficiaries expressed their profound gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for positively impacting their lives using the instrumentality of the ACReSAL Project.
They equally thanked the visiting team for making out time to come to Kogi State for the Mission to see to the implementation with a view to offering support.
While addressing the Project beneficiaries at the testimonial ground, the Co-TTL, Engr. Umolu Chinedu harped on the need for all beneficiaries to encourage the State Government to do more by ensuring that all ACReSAL Projects in the area are jealousy guarded, pointing out that the funds which is readily available is not free money, but loans, which MUST be REPAID by the State Government.
According to the Co-TTL, “it was paramount for beneficiaries to show appreciation by protecting such humongous investments”.
Highlights of the day’s activities was a visit to a Cassava processing factory owned by a CRF group. The visiting team also checked the progress of work at the gully Erosion Site, whilst also checking an FAO farm on the outskirts of town.
