The Eleojo Women Association has reaffirmed its support for Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, pledging massive grassroots mobilisation for his re-election and all All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The association made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Dr. Shaibu Danjuma Fabian, in his office in Lokoja, where it also commended Governor Ododo for appointing their son to the strategic position.
Leading the delegation, the association’s chairperson, Fatima Abu, described Fabian’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his dedication, integrity, diligence, transparency, and commitment to public service.
She said the visit was to congratulate the Permanent Secretary, appreciate his commitment to effective service delivery, and express confidence in his ability to reposition the commission for greater efficiency.
Abu noted that the association was confident Fabian would bring his wealth of experience to bear on the commission’s operations and contribute to the successful implementation of the Ododo administration’s policies at the grassroots.
The association also expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for finding Fabian worthy of the appointment, describing it as a testament to his administration’s recognition of merit and hard work.
It further commended the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo; the Accountant-General of the state, Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko; and the Head of Service for their contributions to governance and support for the association.
2027: Eleojo Women Mobilise for APC
Reaffirming the association’s political commitment, the chairperson said its members were prepared to mobilise voters across their networks to secure victory for Governor Ododo and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
She disclosed that the association had a strong membership base across the nine local government areas of Kogi East and other parts of the country, positioning it to drive grassroots engagement and political mobilisation.
The group specifically pledged support for senatorial candidates, including Joe Erico in Kogi East and Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in Kogi Central, while highlighting its mobilisation networks in Ganaja, Ajaokuta, Gadumo, and the 500 Housing Estate in Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
The association maintained that its support for the Ododo administration was rooted in its confidence in the government’s leadership and its commitment to sustaining the administration’s development agenda.
It also acknowledged the Accountant-General, Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, for her longstanding support, including assistance with appointments for some members and efforts to promote the association’s activities.
Among those who accompanied the delegation were Hon. Thompson Alfa, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Grassroots Mobilisation, and Comrade Dr. Alfa Ebune, a former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor.
