Following the conduct of the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ 8th triennial national delegates conference held in Owerri, Imo state on 28th November 2024 Comrade Alhassan Yahaya emerged the winner of the election.
He pulled 436 votes to defeat Comrade Dele Atumbi who scored 97 votes while Mohammed Garba who took third position scored 36 votes.
The conference commenced 12:30pm on Wednesday 27th November and ended 1:30 am the following day.
Comrade Alhassan Yahaya from Gombe State is the new President of our noble union.
