Kogi SSG, AG, Dep. Speaker, late Deaconess Esther Kolawole bags KPWN Award of Excellence
In a bid to recognize excellence and commitment to humanity, the Kogi Progressives Women Network (KPWN) has announced that eight distinguished personalities in Kogi State will be honoured in an upcoming  awards ceremony.
 The event, set to take place later this month, will celebrate individuals whose contributions have significantly impacted governance, business, and community development in the state.
Among the honourees are the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SSG), Dr. (Mrs.) Folashade Arike Ayoade; Kogi State Accountant-General, Hajia Habibat Onumoko Tijjani; and Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Alpha Mopa. Other recipients include notable entrepreneurs and philanthropists, alongside a posthumous award for the late Deaconess Esther Kolawole, wife of the former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly.
KPWN, a network of resourceful women dedicated to advancing politics and service delivery, organized the awards as part of its year-end activities. The group, under the patron, Comrade Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege (FANCY), Auditor-General for Local Governments in Kogi State, aims to spotlight individuals who inspire progress and uphold values of excellence.
Dr. (Mrs.) Folashade Arike Ayoade will be honoured for her unwavering support and loyalty to the New Direction Government and her role in mobilizing women for the success of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration. Hajia Habibat Onumoko Tijjani will receive recognition as a Political Frontliner for Women folks for her exemplary leadership and advocacy for women’s empowerment. Honourable Alpha Mopa will be celebrated as the Most Outstanding Female Lawmaker of 2024 for her impactful legislative contributions.
The late Deaconess Esther Kolawole will receive a posthumous award as a Woman of Faith in recognition of her dedication to evangelism and humanitarian service. Mrs. Grace Dare Michael, wife of the Kabba-Bunu LGA Chairman, will be recognized as the Most Caring and Supportive Wife for her steadfast contributions to her family and community.
Other honourees include Deaconess Dunmoye Abigail, CEO of Toluwanile Restaurant, for setting new standards in the hospitality industry with her authentic culinary offerings. Mrs. Esther Oluwatoyin Adeagbo, CEO of AdeAgbo Trading Stores, will be celebrated for her honesty and ethical business practices at Lokoja’s Old Market. Hajiya Mistura Ajoke, CEO of Misi T Restaurant, will be recognized as the Restaurant of the Year 2024 for her outstanding service and innovative culinary contributions in Lokoja and Abuja.
KPWN’s leadership expressed that the upcoming ceremony is a reflection of the network’s commitment to uplifting individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to humanity. According to the organizers, the awards aim to motivate recipients and inspire others to prioritize service and excellence.
Dignitaries from across the state are expected to attend the event, which promises to be a celebration of excellence, service, and dedication to the progress of Kogi State.
