EODU calls on Gov. Ododo to extend its dev. Strides to Egume community

The Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo has been called upon to consider Egume community in Dekina Local government area in its developmental strides in the state.

A stakeholder in the community, Mr. John K. Umoru made the call over the weekend at the annual get-together of the Lokoja branch of Egume-Ome Descendants union, (EODU) held at Dr. Y. Attah’s residence, Lokoja.

Umoru who pointed out that Egume the headquarters of Okura district being an ancient community has never witnessed a major facelifts by any government adding that it lacks many social amenities and township roads.

He therefore charged all sons and daughters of the community to remain focused while contributing towards the socio- development development of the land.

In his speech, the outgoing chairman of the Egume-Ome Descendants union, (EODU) Lokoja branch, Comrade Noah Ocheni appreciated members for their support and cooperation towards the growth of the union in Lokoja.

Comrade Ocheni also commended the Kogi state community and social development Agency for the renovation of the health clinic at Efakwu, Rehabilitation of the boreholes at Owala and Ogene-Odeto respectively.

In a related development, the Lokoja branch of the union, (EODU) has elected some officials to run its affairs for the next two years.

Among those elected are: Joel ijaja – Chairman, Mallam Muhammed Acheneje – Vice chairman, Mr. Ademu Benard Iyeh – Secretary General, Mr Ezekiel B Odawn – Assist secretary, Comrade Musa Abuh Musa CNA – Treasurer
While the post of Financial secretary went to Abutu Samuel Ikani.

Others are: Theophilus Adega – Assist financial secretary
Mallam Shehu mustapha – Publicity/Social welfare, Mr. Ezekiel James – Assist publicity secretary,
Mr. Yayaha Ebikwo – Provost Marshal , Mr. James Solomon Okpanachi – Assist provost Marshal.
and Pst Emmanuel Omada was elected Auditor of the union.

In his post election speech, the chairman elect, comrade Joel Ijaja appealed for the cooperation of members so as to enable the Exco achieve maximum results.

Comrade Ijaja assured members of his readiness to render selfless service for the community and promised not to abuse the confidence reposed in them.
