NSCDC trains 262 officers on AK47, G3 Rifles in Kogi.
* Commandant sues for professionalism, discipline.

The Commandant of the kogi state Command of NSCDC Esther O. Akinlade has charged officers and men to exhibit highest sense of professionalism and discipline in the line of duties.
The commandant gave the charge over the weekend during the passing out ceremony of 262 officers and men from various Divisional offices trained in the handling of Ak47 and G3 riffles.
Commandant Akinlade urged them to uphold the ideals of the Corps.
She encouraged the officers to demonstrate high sense of humour, empathy, discipline, and professionalism in their service to the nation.
She assured the officers that the range classification exercise has equipped them with necessary capacity to carry out their legitimate duties .
According to the Commandant “it has become necessary for Officers and men to acquaint themselves with the latest skills in weapon handling following the trends of attacks on Security Personnel, Security formations, Critical National Assets and Infrastructures. Thus the need for training and retraining of personnel on weapon handling is of the essence to the Corps.”
Speaking further, Commandant Akinlade said the personnel has undergone rigorous and intensive training for the period of 6 weeks after satisfying the basic forensic and medical requirements before finally embarking on the shooting range classification.
The State Commandant harped on the need for professionalism and strict adherence to the acceptable standard of operation of the Corps and warned against any act of misuse or conduct that negate the ethics of firearms handling , while declaring zero tolerance for “accidental discharge’.
while reiterating the essence of the exercise which is to ensure maximum and better productivity to meet up with the test of time as the whole nation is putting more hope on NSCDC in combating crime and criminality in line with the vision and mission of the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR.
Speaking further, the State Commandant appreciated the 12 Brigade Commander of the Nigerian Army Lokoja ,Brig General K U SIDI and other sister security agencies for their consistent support that has made the Corps successful in the performance of her mandate.
In a remark, the Head of Training Department, DCC Fasakin Adebayo said the Officers and men have been adequately drilled in conformity with the standard procedure in arms training both on G3 and AK-47 rifles.
