A group known as Igala and Bassa Progressive Forum IBPF of Kogi East has endorsed the reelection bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the second term in office for 2027 general elections.
The group made the endorsement at a world press conference held inside the main hall of the kogi state Council of NUJ press complex in Lokoja on Tuesday.
The Chairman, Maximilian Emmanuel Tashilani noted that the forum is a child of necessity formed to give direction, and leadership in the political participation, inclusiveness and the attraction of Democratic dividends to the people of kogi East.
He said Machiavelli in one of his writings , mentioned that ” there is nothing more difficult to carryout, or more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to handle than to initiate new order of things, stressing that the forum was formed to actualize the Tinubu and Ododo second term bid.
He disclosed that Kogi East which is the most populous zone of not less than 900,000 out of 2,009, 902 registered voters and with vast minerals and human resources, if properly mobilize and galvanized would give the APC comfortable hold on the state.
He said, the forum which consist of seasoned politicians , Academia,and reputable professionals has formed partnership, political alliances and fostering unity among the people in order to make the zone a force to reckon with.
Tashilani pledge to interrogate, rebuke mundane consideration for the people to accept the notion that’ if the people work together, their weakness would be turned to their strength.
He added that as professional and political association, IBPF through research based performance, the Tinubu and Ododo administrations have positively impacted on the zone that the successive administrations.
Among the achievements of the administrations on the Kogi East, he included the appointment of Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu and the Chief of Army General Waidi Shuaibu among many others which brought development to kogi East.
The chairman further acknowledged the bold and courageous removal of petroleum subsidy and ambitious reforms by the president has brought medium and long term prosperity to the country.
He noted that the Renew Hope Agenda of President Tinubu has been replicated in kogi state with the commencement of work on the Airport project and establishment of Free trade zone, adding that Governor Ododo ‘s massive investment in Education, Health, Agriculture and priority in the prompt payment of salaries to civil servant would be reciprocated with overwhelming votes for the APC in all the elections.
While pointing out the mineral wealth such as rich agriculture land, Coal , Crude oil deposit and fair weather has naturally made the zone a hub for industrialization, agro business and energy development, said , the second term for the APC , would consolidate total transformation of kogi East.
” As a responsible group, Igala/ Bassa Progressive Forum for Tinubu and Ododo 2027 is not only going to advocate for the reelection , but will be in the forefront in enlightenment and creating awareness of the people of kogi East who will deliver over 99% of the total registered voters .
” We are aware of the commitment of Gov. Ododo to development of kogi East, as demonstrated by the investment in security and safety of lives and property of the citizenry. Ododo has not only taken positive steps , but has also made conscious efforts to sustain solid and sound ideological principles with projects executed.”
In a remark , Dr. Alfa Ebune , the group lead, commended President Tinubu for the NELFUND loan which has retained indigent students of tertiary institutions, hinting that , the forum will utilize its vast appeal to deliver the president and Governor Ododo.
He commended the members and the people of kogi East to remain resolute and ensure that their votes would only counts for Tinubu and Ododo in the 2027 general elections.
