A good governance advocate, leadership trainer, and publicist, Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr., has commended the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for what he described as “a bold and transformative leadership” that has redefined governance in the state within three years.
In a statement marking the governor’s third anniversary in office, Nwaokobia said Mbah’s campaign slogan, “Tomorrow Is Here,” has evolved from a mere political promise into a “measurable reality” reflected in infrastructural development, institutional reforms, and economic revitalisation across Enugu State.
According to him, the administration’s achievements are evident in multiple sectors, including education, healthcare, security, infrastructure, and economic development.
“Three years ago, many saw the slogan as ambitious. Today, it has become a living reality that can be seen and felt across Enugu State. What we are witnessing is a deliberate effort to redefine governance through vision, discipline, and strategic execution,” he said.
Nwaokobia noted that Mbah’s administration has distinguished itself through a clear development blueprint aimed at expanding the state’s economy from approximately $4.4 billion to $30 billion through private-sector-driven growth and infrastructural expansion.
He highlighted the aggressive infrastructural renewal programme across urban and rural areas, stating that road construction and urban modernisation projects have significantly improved connectivity, boosted commerce, and enhanced the state’s investment appeal.
“Every road constructed and every urban renewal project executed is tied to a broader economic vision. This is not cosmetic governance; it is strategic and purposeful,” he added.
On education, the public affairs analyst described the Smart Green Schools initiative as “one of the most ambitious reforms in Nigeria’s education sector,” noting that the plan to establish 260 smart schools across wards demonstrates a commitment to preparing future generations for global competitiveness.
He further commended the administration’s healthcare reforms, particularly the construction of 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state, describing it as “revolutionary and redemptive” in improving access to quality healthcare services.
Nwaokobia also lauded the government’s efforts in strengthening security through investments in surveillance infrastructure, intelligence gathering, and inter-agency collaboration, noting that the improved security environment has boosted investor confidence and economic activities.
He emphasised that Mbah’s governance model reflects a strong commitment to economic transformation, driven by policies that promote ease of doing business, attract investments, and support entrepreneurship.
“Enugu is steadily positioning itself as a preferred investment destination due to improved infrastructure, institutional efficiency, and policy direction,” he stated.
The governance advocate further noted that agriculture, rural development, youth empowerment, and women inclusion have received significant attention under the administration, contributing to more inclusive and sustainable growth.
He added that the administration’s performance-driven approach, anchored on accountability and measurable outcomes, has injected professionalism into public service delivery.
“Governance under Mbah is no longer about routine administration but about results, impact, and measurable progress,” he said.
Nwaokobia also commended the administration’s embrace of technology and innovation, noting that digital governance and smart systems are positioning the state for future competitiveness.
