Lion Tanimowo emerges President, Lagos Icon Lions Club, Ogudu,

The Lagos Icon Lions club, Ogudu, Lion George Kayode Tanimowo, a travel and Tourism Consultant has emerged sixth President of the club.

He was officially crowned on Saturday in a colourful investiture ceremony held at the Lagos Country Club, Ikeja , Lagos State capital.

The ceremony also saw other members of the club Exco sworn alongside the President to support him in the next one year.

Other members of the Exco include ; Solomon Abor, Ist Vice-president, Lion Osaro Godwin Emovon 2nd vice-president, Ijeoma Christiana Okoh, Secretary and Lion Junior Victor Eyo,Treasurer, while Lions Benjamin Emeka Okwuadi, Sandra Chris-Okafor and Evelyn Braie will serve as club Directors

Others are Lion Olusegun Taiwo Oluwole, Service Chairperson,,Lion Duke Chukudi Odinde Membership Chairperson, Lion Dr Akeem Olayinka- Martin’s is Marketing Communications Chairperson.

In his acceptance speech delivered at the ceremony, Lion Tanimowo was full of praise to the immediate past President,, Lion Angela Odoala for her unprecedented membership drive during her tenure.

“In my Lionestic years with the club, I have seen a president that beautify our membership drive the way she does” adding that the new Exco under his leadership would strive to not only meet the legacy she laid down but also surpass her achievements.

The President urged members to join hands with him to take the motto if the club”we serve” to a higher level since lots of people need the club’s services.

“As Lions, service is like a music to our ears for that is the only thing we know best. Lets it to a higher level since our there, lots of people need us”.

Lion George Tanimowo ,is a popular Travel and Tourism Consultant and a philanthropist of note who has made improving the living standard of members of the club and the society at large his cardinal objective during his tenure and even beyond.

Also speaking on the sideline of the investiture ceremony, the club’s Chairperson Marketing and Communications Lion (Dr) Akeem Olayinka-Martins called for the support of members of the public, corporate organisations and public spirited individuals to assist the club to realise it’s objectives of lending a helping hand to the society.

Lion club is the largest none profit service oriented organisation with over 46,000 club’s and 1.4 million members worldwide.

Lion club prides itself in making friends with all including children who need help and even professionals who may require one help or the other.
