Niger partners Plan Int’l to Deepen Maternal, Child Healthcare Services.

Niger State Government has reiterated it commitment to Partners with Plan International for Increased Coverage in Maternal and Child Health Services delivery in the state.

The Wife of the Niger state Governor Dr Amina Abubakar Bello disclosed this during the flag off ceremony of December 2021 round of the Maternal Newborn and Child Health week MNCHW Campaign in the state.

She mentioned this during the flag off campaign ceremony held at the PPFN Secretariat Chanchanga in Minna the state capital.

The first lady stated that the State Government through Ministry of Health and the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency shall collaborate with Plan International, an international non-governmental organisation to scale up nutritional services to Maternal Mothers and Newborn child in the state.

The Executive Director of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana who represented the Commissioner of Health at the flag off ceremony pledged the commitment of the State government towards improving on the quality of healthcare service delivery to women and children.

The ANRiN Project Director of Plan International Nigeria in Niger State in her separate speech Mrs Bolanle Oyebola stated that the organisation was proud to work with the state as a partner of the World Bank supported ANRiN Project.

Mrs Bolanle said that in line with Plan International’ s mission to advancing children’s right and promoting equality for girls, the organization’s target is to have 10 million girls, learn, lead decide and thrive in Nigeria by 2023.

The Project Directed further mentioned that Plan International organisation is supporting the State Primary Health Care Development Agency to increase advocacy, community mobilization, service delivery during the bi-annual MNCHW campaign to provide community-based basic package of nutrition services to pregnant women, lactating mothers, children and adolescent girls,these services include the provision of vitamin A, albenzale, Ion Folic Acid, Sulfodixine Pryrimethamine, Zinc/ORS and counselling.
