Kogi based publisher of Nigerian Post , Mike Abu has challenged Nigerians to give their maximum support to Orphanage homes so as to assist them in nurturing and raising children in their care.
The publisher said taking care of children without their biological parents should be the collective responsibility of members of the society, stressing that children are the greatest gift from God irrespective of the circumstances of their birth.
Abu stated this on Tuesday in Lokoja, when he presented food items , clothings and cash to Itagi Cornerstone Orphanage home as part of activities marking his 50th birthday.
Abu who is also the Chairman of Federated chapel of NUJ kogi state council urged the children not to allow circumstances of their births to affect their aspiration for greatness , assuring them that , God will definitely reward their hardwork.
The Publisher admonished the children that they have all it takes to be responsible citizens and should not engage in acts that will truncate their education, saying with hard work and commitment to their studies , they will become whatever they want to be in life.
Responding, the Manager of the Home, Mrs . Larra Owoshagba, thanked the Publisher for the gesture and promise to use the gifts for the benefit of the children.
She also appeal to well meaning Corporate bodies and individuals not to be tired of lending helping hands to orphanages in order to assist them in raising responsible children.
Earlier, Pastors, Church members of Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG, neighbors and family members joined him to pray and to give thanks to God for his marvelous work on his life.
