Prof Ocheni,, former Minister, honoured as Papal Knight by Pope Francis.
In keeping with the tradition of honouring Commitment and dedication to the growth of Catholic church and service of God Almighty, Pope Francis has honoured the former Minister of state for Labour and Productivity, Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni as papal Knight at the Idah Catholic Diocese, headquarters, Idah , Kogi state.
In a statement signed by Media Consultant to the Minister, Alhaji Alih Atabor, and made available to Treasuretimes indicate that the investiture ceremony would be performed by His Lordship ,Most Rev(Dr) Anthony Ademu Adaji , the Bishop of Idah Catholic Diocese.
According to the statement, the ceremony would hold on Saturday 18th December, 2021 at the Headquarters of Idah Catholic Diocese, Idah, Kogi state.
The statement commended Pope Francis and the Catholic church worldwide for the recognition of the Minister’s contributions to the development of the church that warrant the bestowal of the honour on Prof. Ocheni, an accomplished scholar and a renown politician.
It called on Professor Ocheni to continue to fortify his relationship with the Diocese and the Catholic church across the globe, for the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
According to the Media Consultant” “This award is a confirmation of his devotion to the service of God and humanity and his little contribution to the growth of the Diocese brought about the recognition by the Pope”.
