Niger State Government had sacked,demoted and suspended some senior professionals in the health sector for gross professional misconduct

Commissioner For Health and Hospital Services Dr Muhammad Makusidi disclosed this to Journalists in Minna,Niger State Capital

Dr Muhammad Makusidi expressed shocked on the mist appalling case of a doctor and some nurses in one of the hospitals found culpable in the death of a pregnant woman for alleged negligence

The Commissioner also told Journalists that it has been discovered that a doctor who runs a private hospital have been diverting patients to his facility

He adds that the most Senior health personnel among those sanctioned was given three months extension without pay

Others he stressed were placed on Call Duty without pay for also three months

Dr.Muhammad. Makusidi informed.Journalists that the State Executive Council has approved the various punishments meted out to the erring practitioners.

He decried the rot in the ministry and the attitude of some health workers to duty.

The Commissioner also revealed that a staff of the Ministry of Health who has been drawing the salary of Grade Level Fourteen officer,is officially on Grade Level Four

He did not feed Journalist with the exact number of the erring health workers that have been sanctioned for professional misconduct.
