Ahead of the 2023 presidential general election in Nigeria, the north central states legislatures has passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the governing All Progressive Congress led by Mai Mala Buni, stressing that the caretaker and extraordinary convention planning committee needs the support and cooperation of all the party faithful to succeed in repositioning the party for a better performance.
This was disclosed at the end of one day extraordinary meetings of the APC States Legislatures in the six States of North Central zones held today at Valencia Hotel, Abuja.
According to the convener, the immediate past Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Marafa said the extraordinary meeting becomes imperative for the legislators to discuss the political future of the zone vise versa the power equation in the country.
He urged members from the six States of the zone to see reason why all well meaning men and women of good will to come together and agitate for a fare share for the zone.
Also speaking, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole who initiated the meeting over one year ago commended the Lawmakers for their quick response to the meeting, noting that their action go a long way to shows their genuine efforts to look after the welfare of their people.
He said the since 1960, the zone has been marginalized and neglected in the democratic elected leadership map of the country despite the endowed human resources that are bound in the area.
He said it is time for all and sundry irrespective of party affiliations to rise up and join hands to agitate for the north central presidency come 2023.

According to the communique issued after the meeting, the legislators passed vote of confidence on the APC caretaker and extraordinary convention planning committee led by Mai Mala Buni, appealed to all party faithful at all levels to give their support and cooperation for him to complete the good works that is doing which have attracted men and women of good will to troop into the party since he assumed office.
They also called on all the leaders in North central to continue to pursue the north central presidency without prejudice to their personal aspiration, pointed out that the number one position in the country will be more beneficial to the zone and the nation at large.

The meeting also endorsed the aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello for presidency come 2023 being the only person that have shown interest for the position in the zone.
They encouraged him to continue to pursue the ambition as he remains the only person that the zone should rally round for the area to be counted in the power equation of the country.
Present at the meeting includes, the speakers of Nasarawa and Plateau states, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi and Rt. Hon.Yakubu Yakson Sanda, while the Deputy Speaker of Kwara state, Rt. Hon. Raphael Adetiba, Minority Leader of Benue State House of Assembly and all members elected under the platform of APC from the six states of the north central.
