NSCDC Recruits 5000, begins Training.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) have announced that 5, 000 candidates have made the final recruitment list from the pool of 1, 477, 033 that applied for the job when the exercise started in October 2019.
Secretary of the board of Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration, (CDCFIB), Hajiya Aisha Rufa’i, made this known at a media briefing by the NSCDC and the board, yesterday in Abuja.
She said the applicants, who took part in the last Computer Based Test (CBT), are to log into the recruitment portal to access a coded job offer letter alongside basic information such as the date they can come for documentation and accreditation.
She, however, said those that were unsuccessful will not be able to access the recruitment portal as the system has been set to lock them out automatically.
“There has been a lot of anxiety over whether the recruitment would be completed. It was stalled because of reasons beyond our control, one of which is the COVID-19 that resulted in a lot of other issues that had a ripple effect on many other areas of the process.
“However, after the process of shortlisting 6,500 applicants, whose certificates were verified and physically screened; 5, 000 were shortlisted as successful.”
The Commandant-General of the corps, Dr. Ahmed Audi, also said the exercise was transparent and the media briefing was to update Nigerians on the completion of the recruitment process.
