*Urges other governors to emulate Gov. Bello’s security architecture.*
The kogi state governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has been called upon to mobilise the contractor handling the abandoned Ganaja -Otoikiti Lokoja bye pass to site to complete the remaining portion of the road to enhance social economic transformation of the state.
The village Head of Ganaja kingdom in Lokoja suburb, Alhaji Idris Isah Simbabi made the appeal on friday in a chat with our correspondent in Local.
The traditional ruler, who noted that the bye pass, popularly know as Wada road was conceived to provide alternative route to articulated vehicles and motorists who criss cross the state to the Northern and Southern parts of the country and to ease traffic congestion and incessant accidents in Lokoja metropolis .
He said, the importance of the bye pass to the economic growth of the state cannot be overemphasised, saying, before the abandonment of the road, it has started attracting human and infrastructural development to the area.
The traditional ruler who commended Gov .Bello for given facelift to Lokoja metropolis and other parts of the state, appealed to him to expedite action so as to complete the remaining portion of the road.
According to the monarch, no fewer than one thousand trailers and other articulated vehicles do ply Lokoja metropolis on a daily basis with incessant accidents, adding that early completion of the bye pass will bring sigh of relief to motorists in the state capital.
According to him, his appeal to the Governor is for him to as a matter of urgency direct the contactor to return to site to complete the remaining portion of the road.
He explained that the completion of the Wada Road, which has in earnest started attracting huge concentration of people and industries to the area , would further create massive employment for teaming youths thereby bringing down incidence of crime and criminality.
He however, urged the Chairman of Ajaokuta Local Government Council, Hon. Mustapha Akaba and commissioner of works , Hon .Abubakar Ohere to lead advocacy to the Governor in order to mobilise resources for the project.
On the issue of insecurity plaguing other parts of the country, the royal father advised governments at all levels to emulate the security architecture put in place by Gov. Yahaya Bello which has made kogi the most secured state in the country.
He thanked the Governor for prioritising the welfare of traditional rulers as their inclusion in Governance has drastically reduced crimes across the domains.
While calling on politicians to play the game by the rules as the 2023 general election is around the corner, warned the youths against being used as thugs.
