The Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT Niger state Wing has expressed dismay on snail speed approach, commitment and intensity been adopted by government in addressing the plight of Primary Schools Teachers in the state most especially in the area of percentage salary payment.
This was disclosed in a press release handed to journalist in Minna and jointly signed by the State Chairman, Comrade Akayago Adamu Mohammed and the Principal Assistant Secretary General Comrade Labaran Garba of the Union recently.
The statement reads “the Union wishes to inform all its member’s at both Primary and Secondary schools level in the state that the Sit at home protest still continues and remained enforced” as the Union demands in respect to the lingering issues are yet to be squarely addressed by the Government.
The Union acknowledged the role been played by the Organized Labour towards ensuring that the State Government and Local Government Councils profer lasting solution on the persistent payment of Primary schools Teacher’s salaries on percentage.
The Union further calls on all critical stakeholders in the state to urgently intervene on the prevailing challenges facing Teachers and the entire teaching profession all with the views to proffering lasting solution that will save the educational system from eminent collapse.
