As the 2023 general elections gathers momentum, the APC Elders Advisory Council of Omala Local Government Area of kogi state has endorsed the candidature of Hon. Abel Egbita to represent Ankpa/ Olamaboro/ Omala Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber of National Assembly.
The chairman of the Advisory Council , Chief Suleiman Ocheni , disclosed this after exhaustive meeting with all critical stakeholders in Omala APC , and have agreed to unequivocally support the aspiration of Abel Egbita to fly the flag of the party in the National Assembly.
This is as the elder statesman appealed to the Executive Governor of Kogi state , Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, to use his good office to rectify the orchestrated marginalisation of Omala LGA in the Ankpa Federal Constituency.
He added that the only way the people of Omala could be assuaged is by adopting Hon. Abel Egbita as the consensus and preferred candidate.
The Chairman equally appealled to the All Progressives Congress APC in Kogi state to ensure that Hon. Abel Egbita, -a sole aspirant from Omala – should receive the party’s nod for equity, fairness and justice in the political equilibrium of Ankpa Federal constituency.
The Chairman of the Elders Advisory Council, made the appeal on Monday , when the APC Justice Team, led by its Chairman, Hon. J. A. Mugabe paid him courtesy visit in his country home at Abejukolo, Headquarters of Omala Local Government Council.
He , however advised APC stalwarts and critical stakeholders from Ankpa and Olamaboro LGAs to be empathic to willingly cede the slot to Hon.Abel Egbita , from Omala LGA in the spirit of brotherliness and political exigencies, saying “what is good for the goose is equally good for the gander.
Recalled that Ankpa LGA has spent 12 years , Olamaboro 8 years while Omala a consolation of 4 years, out of a total of 24 years of the present democratic experience.
Meanwhile, he charged APC leadership and members to close ranks and work assiduously to win all segments of the forthcoming general elections, while assuring the commitment of his body at ensuring that APC wins convincingly.
