Ankpa/ Olamaboro/ Omala Fed. Constituency;  Akuh confident of winning as PDP screens State , National Assembly Aspirants.

A foremost Aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic party PDP of Ankpa/ Olamaboro/Omala Federal Constituency for  the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Akuh has expressed satisfaction with the  transparency and meticulous screening exercise for would be members of the National and state Assemblies.

He said , he is  not only confident of winning the party ticket,  but also to emerge victorious at the general election.
Hon. Aliyu Akuh who is a two term  Member of the kogi state House of Assembly and   ex-Deputy Speaker in the fifth kogi State Assembly stated this at the sidelines  of the PDP  Screening exercise for the state and National Assemblies held  on Wednesday, in Lokoja .
Akuh, while commending the exercise for its hitch free and without high handedness, said if the process is maintained to the end, it will ensure the best aspirants will be elected to contest the general elections.
He noted that his confidence in winning the ticket of his party is based on his interaction with the people at the grassroots  and PDP hierarchy across the constituency and the feedback he had received ,has become his source of encouragement.
The former lawmaker said , while in the House , he has initiated and completed  numerous  legacy projects across Omala Constituency which are available for verification and confirmation.
He added that the acknowledgement of his people of his performance coupled with his integrity and personal relationship with both the party and the electorate would place him ahead of other aspirants.
He disclosed that while in the House as the leader of the PDP caucus , he never betrayed the party even when it was obviously dangerous to personal safety not to dump the party.
He added that his resolve to remain with the Party through out his tenure, despite  mounting challenges , ensured the PDP to remain afloat in the Hallowed.Chamber.
” Frankly speaking, to sound modest, i was the then face of the PDP in the House . I kept encouraging my colleagues to remain steadfast with the party and God helping us, some left  but very few ones stayed with me in the party.
” I used my personal resources to  organise and support the party in my Local Government Area and the other LGAs in my Federal Constituency, kogi East and indeed PDP at the state level.
“When the persecution of PDP members was fierce across the state , some prominent members abandoned the party  and moved to other parties , but i chose to remain not minding the hazards.
“, if i may solicit, if one has risked his personal comfort for the party ,it should be   morally expedience to reciprocate him with his aspiration. He Should  be treated differently from those, for their personal benefits left the party at the most critical time even as  others  decided to join PDP now that  it has become glaring of its potential to kick out APC out of office.
The former Deputy Speaker , urged the party Executives  and delegates not to be decieved by those who want to buy their conscience with money , warning that not all that is glittering is gold.
He challenge the people to place each aspirant on the front burner of antecedents for capacity , empathy, concern for the party  and constituency projects, saying he is tested and trusted that ought to take a “
bow and go” He solicited.
He assure that with unity in the Party especially at the National level, he foresee a strong PDP in the 2023 general elections  that will rescue Nigerians with power of incumbency not withstanding.
While calling on the critical stakeholders of the party to adopt any legitimate method that will throw up the best candidate for the party, urged them to zone the slot to Omala for equity, fairness and justice to rights the sustained and orchestrated marginalisation against Omala LGA.
