BAN ON COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLE OPERATORS STILL IN FORCE NIGER GOVT.

Niger State Ministry of Transportation has clarify that all the impounded motorcycle confiscated as a result of violation of state regulations are intact under the custody of Vehicle Inspection Officer(VIO).

In a Press release made available to Journalists and signed by the Information officer of the ministry, Rahama Sulaiman said the General public are advised to ignore the rumor going round that the motorcycles have been disposed.

The statement says that the Ministry advised those whose motorcycles were confiscated to visit the Vehicle Inspection Office VIO with their relevant documents and pay the necessary fine to get their bikes.

He stated that the recent disbandment of Task Force on Motorcycle Operation was done based on the ongoing reform of the Transportation system in the state, adding that the ban on motorcycle operation is still in force.

According to the statement, the development has nothing to do with selling or disappearance of motorcycles as been insinuated,it says that all the impounded motorcycle are intact.

He said Nigerlites are advised to always cooperate with government and other law enforcement Agencies for social and economic development of the state
