Niger State Governor Rt Hon.Umar Mohammed Bago have been called upon to approval the commencement of the consequential adjustment of the minimum wage of affected workers in the state effective from July 2023.

The call was made by the Vice Chairman of the Nigeria labour Congress NLC,Niger State council, Comrade Abdullahi Abubakar Erena in an interview with Nigeria Daily Post correspondent in his office in Minna

Comrade Abdullahi Erena said the affected workers particularly local government works who are worst hit, have waited patiently for over three years for the implementation since last administration.

He observed that there is need for the Governor of Niger State,RT Hon Umar Bago to kindly approve the implementation without delay, adding that it will cushion some of the challenges been faced by the affected workers in the state.

According to him during the domestication of thirty thousand naira [N30 000] minimum wage in the state and subsequent implementation by the end of February,2020 for the state workers, local government workers on grade level 7 and above were deferred untill the finance of the State improves, hence the appeal for the approval for the implementation.

He passionately appeals to the governor to see the implementation of the consequential adjustment of the minimum wage particularly for local government workers as his personal project.

He then assures the Governor of the entire workers unalloyed support and commitments to the development of the State.
