The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, psc, mni, received a courtesy visit from the Council of Ulama’u today, 1st December, 2025, at the Command Headquarters in Lokoja. The visit aimed to strengthen religious collaboration in areas of security and safety, with discussions focusing on ways to promote peaceful coexistence and address security challenges in the state.
CP Kankarofi welcomed the Council, emphasizing the importance of interfaith dialogue and collaboration in maintaining peace and stability in the state. He assured the Ulama’u of the Command’s commitment to working together with religious leaders to address security concerns and promote community policing.
The Leader of the Council, Alh. Idris Babango, who is the Administrative Secretary, expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s efforts in ensuring the safety of citizens and pledged the Ulama’u’s support in promoting peace and stability in the state.
The Commissioner of Police also received the executive of National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers Employers of Nigeria (NASWDEN) Kogi State chapter, strengthening community policing initiatives for enhanced security and safety of lives and property. The Commissioner emphasized the importance of scrap dealers in economic development and urged for continued partnership and collaboration to combat illegal activities.
The State chairman, Alh. Hashimu Usman Maigemu, commended the Commissioner of Police for the warm reception and assured of robust working synergy to prevent the trade of stolen or explosive materials, reaffirming earlier bans on working during dark hours, on Sundays, and in restricted areas
