Work harder to ending insecurity, Igbo leader tells FG, States, Security Agencies.

The Igbo President General in Lokoja,Chief Sonny Solomon kogi state has tasked president Ahmed Tinubu, state Governors and all security agencies to redouble their efforts to ending pervasive insecurity across the country so as to restore people’s confidence in the government.
The President General made the remark on Monday at this year annual cerebration of Igbo Cultural Day held in the main bowl of the Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja.
He said insecurity has become hydra headed monster in which people are being killed like fowls and hunted for ransom,reminding the authorities of their primary responsibility of protect lives and property.
He decried the sustained and increasing waves of Kidnapping for ransome, abductioon of school children attacking places of worship and herders farmers clashes that have led families to lick the wounds without balance of power from the Nigerian state actors
The cultural leader noted with angst that people cannot travel , go to farmers or gather for economic and social activities for the fear of being attacked by the marauders.
While believing that the Government has the capacity and capabilities to smoke them out of existence, called on President Bola Tinubu to muster political will to deal frontally with the criminals and their sponsors.
While commending leaders of different groups and supporters for his successful tenure, pledged to conduct election, coming up next week that will usher peaceful transition.
He disclosed that the Igbo ethnic nationality are renown for their development acumen and as such would not do anything unwholesome that will jeopardize their smooth relationship with host communities.
” Today we have had four years of my administration as the president of Igbo community. And four years as a leader of Lokoja, the president general, I have to mark this event to show that we have really done our best . From all over the local Communities, our representatives are all here. They are here to celebrate with us. We are a lot of abiding citizens. That’s why you can see us, we live in harmony with our host communities and other communities that we are with. Because we are developers. We don’t look for trouble. We only plan to make sure wherever we find ourselves, we will be a developer of that place. And united as one entity. we love being together and his excellency being our own chief servant is a father and indeed a lover of unity and peace and that’is why we are supposed to be united, however Unity a problem across Nigeria.
“The problem of insecurity and other things, I want to advise the state government and the federal government to really work hard. Because the way they are destroying human beings, they are destroying human beings like fowls, which is not supposed to happen. The primary duty of the government is to protect the citizens. So when you see people being killed like this, the government has to swing into action, to make sure they protect those that elected them.
“So I’m advising the government and also the security agencies to rise to their vision and protect those that elected them. So that we can say, the roads are free for travellers. As it is right now, the risk of plying the roads is high and dangerous for everybody” He advised
He charged his brothers and sisters living in Kogi state and elsewhere to be law abiding citizen, and to ply their trade within the ambit of law, stressing that without good neighborliness, there wouldn’t be meaningful peace and development
