HALIMS third term a  sweetness in the pudding

Spread the love

A lady sarcastically wrote on her Facebook page. She said” I  have been chatting with a guy called Emeka for about three months. I like him as he possess qualities that women desired of a man. When I finally made up my  mind to give serious thought to the relationship. I  discovered a picture on the Facebook status. It was a picture of Emaka and Ugochuku.I became instant fixated to the outlook of  Emeka’s friend. To me , the facial look of Ugochukwu looks more attractive. I had to change my love for the friend. I then told Emeka  that I had  lost the love for him  but developed uncontrolled infatuation  for the friend. I asked Emaka to link me  with the friend. Emeka linked us and the conversation blossomed. Unknown to me, the two friends lived together. When I eventually visited the new found love, what i saw was unbelievable. I was confused as he was  a squatter with Emeka. What i saw in  the picture was not a true  reflection of the man. My estranged friend in all ramifications was better.  When I returned home I told Emeka that I want  to come back to him, alas it was too late to know that the sweetness is the eating  puddy.” She lamented.

The story of the girl in the analogy is not restricted to her. It is general. People seldom believe that the sweetness of putty is in the eating. The putty is aphoric in every sphere of lives. It is in the family, society and what have you in the political space. People are judged differently. It could be right, but most often wrong. People judge the surface and not the substance. We are quick to adulate loquacious. People are wired differently. We have different make up, so our behaviors. Some are given to cheap talk, they talk before realizing the import, while others are meticulous and objective in their disposition. They make things happen without elaborate hyperbole.
In this realm, the distinguish Rt Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Alih Halims fits perfectly into this category. He is calculative and goal getting  without cacophonous noise. He knows what to do per time for the good of his people. His doors are opened 24 hours listening and mapping strategies to position his people. His milk of kindness knows no bounds. He is more concerned with providing livelihoods for his constituents. He could go to any length to wrestle national patrimony to his constituency. His tenacity to system ensured his elevation to ranking position in House of Representatives. He is unarguably the first from our constituency to occupy the office of the Deputy Majority leader. We have had others before him. He has proved to us that from our end , there is possibility that we can get  higher positions in the Yellow chamber.
This piece is not to idolize his achievements  but to lay it bare that he has done well in his constitutional responsibility of law making which upgraded the livelihoods of his people.
In this realm, Halims has had more workable bills and motions with impacts on the Constituency than all his predecessors put together. He is a loud voice for the constituency on National discourse. His personality is a signature tune. He exudes confidence and carries high profile personality that cannot be undervalued . He is our pride and we should thank our stars for having him  in the highest echelon of the Legislature of the country.
Halims , had a humble political beginning. His first shot at actual politics took him to the Kogi state House of Assembly. In four years, his imprints remained unmatched. When he saw that his ambition was taller than the state Legislature, he brought in his mentee, while he got the mandate for the National Assembly. I tactically decided not to talk of the  distribution of physical empowerment materials, as there are too glaring to be hidden. The songs of the footprints too loud to be ignored by the deaf and too crystal not to be seen by the blinds.
No wonder, he achieved the overwhelming support of stakeholders and the electorate for the votes he got during the ongoing APC primaries. He remains the only one throughout our political trajectory that has received the blessings of his people for the third term. Yes, there are people that have reservations for his style of representation. That is noted, as everyone has its style. What matters is deliverables. He may not have met expectations of all, but , those that sucked  and sucking his milk of kindness should not flippantly be  on the rise, as we now need all hands to be on deck for his success at the general elections.
Yes, he had weathered the storm in the past amidst campaign of calumny, he will do better now that the contest is between Abdullahi Ibrahim Alih Halims and no others. His success carries bags of opportunities for the Constituency as he will be qualified to context for highest position in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, which baggages will smile on the people of Ankpa Olamaboro Omala federal constituency.
