The Veronica Bakoz Charity Foundation has distributed Exercise Books, Writing Materials and story books to pupils in primary and secondary Schools in Ganaja, in the outskirts of Lokoja, kogi state capital .
The materials worth thousands of Naira were presented to pupils of UBE primary School, UBE Secondary School and Government Day Secondary Schools in Ganaja.
While presenting the books and writing materials amidst cheers, on Wednesday
May 27, 2027, the founder of the foundation, Ms Veronica Bako noted that she was delighted despite her challenges to bring succor to the less privilege pupils.
Ms Bako stated that her foundation established in 2025 was built with the thematic focus on providing Skills and vocational training, Small businesses support; humanitarian outreach, girl child development and awareness and advocacy campaign
According to her , having lost her husband in 1995 , with the pains of having to training two children alone, decided to establish this foundation to assist vulnerable widows and children to enable them achieve their aims and aspirations in life
She urged privileged Nigerians to lend hands of support to the needy around them , saying government alone cannot cater for all the needs of the society.
While explaining her experience after the death of her husband, Veronica noted that “I’ m a widow. I lost my husband on September 2,1995. Since then, I have been battling with my two children.
Out of nothing, I give. I like giving. And I don’t like people suffering.
If I cook, the little I cook, I would like to share with people around me. that is what motivated me to start the foundation to render assistant to the less privileged and widows.
“I would like, if I have more, I will continue to give. Because I struggle to train my children. And today, I say thank God for where I am today. I started this foundation last year, October 25 ,2025 and since then, we have been giving to those in need around me . It is not only when you have plenty before you give out. People that are suffering, try and give it to them. Even though it’s not much.
“The little that you give to that person, maybe, that person has nothing that day to eat.
But the little you give to that person that day, it will go a long way for that person. I imploy Nigerians to start giving out. They should bless people, touch their lives. People are suffering. Government cannot come to the aid of everybody.We should help ourselves. ” She advised.
In a remark, the principal of Government Day Secondary School, Ganaja, Abu Yahaya commended the foundation for the gesture and promise to distribute the materials equitably for the benefits of the students.
He assured that these materials donated today will birth medical doctors, lawyers, Engineers and produce leaders for their generations.
In their separate appreciation, Miss
Maikashua and Rafia of Government Day Secondary school and UBE primary school thanked her for the gifts assuring that the materials will help them in their studies .
Items donated includes, cartons of Exercise Books, packs of Biro and pencils, and cartons of story books.
