The Paramount ruler Achadu Oko AtaIgala Onu- Ogboo HRH Ali Yusuf Ameadaji has appointed Ambassador Valentine Opaluwa PHD as the Akohiala/ Akaohiala of Achadu palace.
In a letter of appointment vide AC/P/TC/1/123/ the royal monarch noted that by the power vested in him as Onu Ogboo and Achadu Oko Ata Igala, Igala traditional custodian of ancient Igala Kingdom and patriarch of the aboriginal communities of Idah and Igala land joyfully convey this letter of appointment as Akohiala/ Akaohiala Igala Kingdom, the one who tells the history of Igala Kingdom.
The letter stated that by this appointment under the suzenaity of Onu Ogboo- Achadu Oko AtaIgala, you have become the Palace historian and custodian of the history and collective histories of the aboriginal people of Idah and Igala Kingdom.
Basis for the appointment
1. The honour is conferred in recognition of your exceptional distinction in preserving, documenting and transmitting the ancestral heritage of the people. *Your diligent custodianship if the oral traditions inherited through your noble progenitor:
* Akogu Omaga, founder of Onu Egume, son of Omewa, son of Omelo and Adebu Enekele and brother to Achadu Ajogwu, father of Achadu Omepa, which establishes you as a direct and legitimate voice of the genealogies, memories and aboriginal foundations of Idah and wider Igala cultural sphere.
Why the appointment:
Your contributions have demonstrated consistent effort in keeping accurate ancestral oral accounts and deeply scholarly engagement with the origin settlements and indigenous rights of the aboriginal people of Idah, research into historic communities, lineages and customary land system of Igala Kingdom, strong commitment to the cultural future of the people.
*Your works like your name Opu- Opaluwa strengths the identity continuity and pride of our ancient kingdom.
By this appointment your responsibility shall include:
*Preserving and interpreting the histories , oral traditions and genealogies of the aboriginal Igala people.
* Advising as the official storyteller, chronicler and heritage custodian for all matters relating to Idah and Igala origin communities, ensuring inter- generational transmission of our sacred histories.
* Representing the Palace in cultural academic and traditional, historical engagement as directed..

This appointment confers upon you full recognition as a senior CULTURAL OFFICER of the Palace with rights , honour and privileges attached to the sacred stool of Akohiala and Akaohiala within the Igala Kingdom.
