KGIRS sympathises Correspondents members over Road Accident

The Management and entire staff of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS) received with deep shock and profound concern the news of the unfortunate road accident involving members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council.

It is with hearts filled with gratitude to Almighty God that we acknowledge the preservation of lives despite the traumatic incident. While we regret the injuries sustained by some of your members and the emotional distress occasioned by the accident, we are greatly relieved that the situation did not result in a greater tragedy.

On behalf of the Executive Chairman, Management, and staff of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the leadership and entire membership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kogi State Council. Our thoughts and prayers are with those currently receiving medical attention, and we pray that Almighty God grants them speedy and complete recovery, renews their strength, and restores them to perfect health.

The invaluable role the media plays in promoting transparency, accountability, public enlightenment, and democratic governance cannot be overemphasised. As partners in the collective pursuit of a better Kogi State, we deeply appreciate the dedication, courage, and sacrifices of journalists who continually put themselves on the frontlines to keep the public informed.

Please, be assured that the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service stands in solidarity with the Nigeria Union of Journalists during this difficult period. We remain committed to sustaining the cordial, respectful, and mutually beneficial relationship that has continued to exist between our institutions.
